Phra Samut Chedi Police have issued a statement following the Department of Provincial Administration's raid on a major gambling den at Chalem Vong Hotel. The operation, which had only been running for approximately three days, was previously unknown to police. The raid, conducted in coordination with provincial administrative officials, took place on May 21, 2026, at approximately 6:30 p.m. on the fourth floor of the closed hotel located in Suk Sawat 80 Soi, Pak Khlong Bang Plakod, Phra Samut Chedi District, Samut Prakan Province.

Operating as a full-scale underground gambling den, the operation was handling over 43 million baht in daily circulation. Officers discovered 63 gamblers and seven operators engaged in illegal wagering games using dice. Gambling chips valued at more than 8 million baht were seized, along with a large quantity of firearms and knives collected as evidence. All suspects have been handed over to investigators for legal proceedings.

Police note that public complaints prompted the initial investigation. The coordination between Phra Samut Chedi Police and provincial administration officials resulted in the successful raid. Authorities plan to expand the investigation to identify additional perpetrators involved in the illegal operation. Phra Samut Chedi Police remain committed to preventing and suppressing unauthorized gambling activities within their jurisdiction.
