Police File Charges Against Activist As Legal Case Unfolds

At 8:30 a.m. on September 18, 2025, at Mueang Khon Kaen Police Station, Chairat Yodprom, a 38-year-old well-known influencer also known as Pu Mahamuni Ariyadas, arrived to wait for activist Pa Da Chommani Noi Chanthorn and presented her with ginger flowers bearing an encouraging message ahead of her second interrogation session. Chairat stated he came today as part of Pa Da's team to show support and use the term 'dharma husband,' saying he had previously presented information to lawyer Anantchai but this time came specifically to encourage Pa Da and demonstrate that people stand beside her. He said he intended to raise several outstanding questions, particularly regarding allegations against the governor and multiple officials who signed documents related to temple and religious assistance, and what specific charges and criminal code articles would be applied. Deputy Colonel Yotsawat Kaewsubthayanit, commander of Mueang Khon Kaen Police Station, stated that the case proceedings are divided into multiple parts. For Pa Da's case, investigators will conduct interrogations and file charges including joint trespass, intimidation causing fear (related to threats to demolish a fence with a backhoe), theft, and charges under Article 112, with three accused persons: a man in purple shirt, a woman in black shirt, and Pa Da. These are investigation procedures and do not yet constitute final determination of guilt. Regarding the case of Bua Khai Sorasomsooth, administrator of the estate of the late Hiang Pimponsri, the charges concern filing a false report to land officials regarding a request for a replacement title deed. Previous information indicated Bua Khai submitted a copy of the title deed on July 13, 2025, and requested a replacement on July 27, 2025, before the temple presented the original title deed and filed an objection with the Land Office on August 14, 2025. On August 18, 2025, the Khon Kaen Provincial Land Officer filed a complaint with Mueang Khon Kaen Police. Investigators have already interrogated two witnesses who signed the affidavits for the missing title deed report and replacement request, and summoned Bua Khai for interrogation today.
