Police Issue Summons in Road Rage Mercedes Incident
Police issued a summons to a motorcyclist accused of kicking and damaging a rare Mercedes-Benz's mirror during a road rage incident in Buddhamon, with an arrest warrant to follow if he ignores the summons twice.
Buddhamon Police Station has issued a summons for a man involved in a road rage incident after the victim filed a complaint, but authorities have been unable to contact him. If he fails to respond to the summons twice, an arrest warrant will be issued immediately.
The incident began when a motorcyclist with a female passenger allegedly attempted to verbally abuse and spat on a blue Mercedes-Benz, ordering it to pull over. The Mercedes owner captured the entire incident on video. After both motorcyclists hit a red light, they dismounted and struck the Mercedes, with the man pushing and breaking the car's side mirror before kicking it again. The owner subsequently filed a complaint regarding damage to the side mirror of his Mercedes-AMG C43 4MATIC Coupe Special Edition, a rare blue model of which only 18 exist in Thailand.
On August 3, 2569, Police Captain Pornchai Ariyanon, commander of Buddhamon Station, provided an update. Following the incident, officers conducted preliminary questioning of the suspect, who admitted only to kicking the mirror. However, police released him at that time because no formal complaint had yet been filed.
After the victim subsequently filed a complaint, investigators spent the entire day attempting to contact the suspect without success. The commander then ordered officers to issue a summons on charges of property damage. Other charges, such as defamation, remain under investigation pending witness statements and evidence collection. If the suspect fails to appear for the summons twice, police will issue an arrest warrant immediately.
Meanwhile, the man in black clothing who rode the second motorcycle and the female passenger are currently being tracked for questioning. Investigators are also reviewing CCTV footage along the escape route as the investigation continues.
