A police officer has been killed following an ambush attack by unknown assailants at the new Sai Buri Police Station. At approximately 18:40 on May 22, 2569, gunmen of unknown number fired on police officers stationed at the facility in tambon Tabing, Sai Buri district, Pattani province, using firearms of unidentified type and caliber. Police Officer Nattawut Suratdet sustained critical injuries and was rushed to Somdet Phra Yupracha Hospital in Sai Buri, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Officers immediately returned fire, causing the assailants to retreat and flee the scene. Authorities have secured the area, collected evidence, and launched an urgent investigation to identify and prosecute those responsible. The Internal Security Command Region 4 is appealing to the public for assistance.
