Pork Prices Rise 2 Baht Per Kilogram to Aid Small Farmers
Live pig prices rose 2 baht per kilogram this week across Thailand to support small farmers after three years of losses, with the government-backed Thai Help Thai Plus subsidy programme ending September 30.
The National Swine Raisers Association reported live pig prices at farm gate for week 34 of 2569 (August 21, 2025), announcing a price increase of 2 baht per kilogram for fattening pigs across all regions to help small-scale farmers recover from three years of losses. The government acknowledged the hardship following an inter-agency meeting. The Thai Help Thai Plus programme (60/40) is set to end on September 30, with expectations that pig price stability will improve thereafter while protecting consumers. Current prices by region are: Western region 74–76 baht/kg, Eastern region 74–77 baht/kg, Northeast region 74 baht/kg, and Northern region 76–78 baht/kg.
