A Quieter Birthday Than Ever: Bird Fanthangmo Grieves Loss of Four Beloved People, Turns 40 With No House or Car, But Debt-Free
Bird Fanthangmo turns 40 grieving four loved ones lost over five years, celebrating quietly without a home or car but free of debt—a principle instilled by his late mother that he considers his greatest fortune.
This year's birthday is much quieter than ever before for Bird Fanthangmo, who mourns the loss of four beloved people over the past five years. These are truly heavy trials. He reveals that at 40 years old, he still has no assets—no house, no car, no wealth—but importantly, he has no debt either, which he considers his good fortune.
On the occasion of Bird Fanthangmo's birthday, the quiet loneliness suggests things won't get any harder than this. After experiencing the loss of four deeply loved ones over the past five years, he reflects on life at 40 years old.
Bird Fanthangmo grieves the loss of four beloved people over five years:
"This year's birthday is much quieter than any before. My mother has been gone for two birthdays now, and my boyfriend for five birthdays. My grandmother has been gone for three years, and my grandfather this year. This birthday feels very lonely, but I'm pushing through. I don't want to blow out candles or receive gifts anymore—I just want the people I love to come back, but that's impossible."
"But within the misfortune, there's still some luck. I've already lost all the heavy things, I've been through all the difficult times. These trials are truly heavy. Did they come too soon? But I think like this—it can't get any harder than this. No one can help us except ourselves."
Bird Fanthangmo admits to forcing a smile despite feeling terrible inside:
"People see me laugh and smile, but they don't know how hard I'm forcing it or how bad things really are inside."
Bird Fanthangmo reveals that at 40 years old, he has no property, house, car, or money, but no debt either:
"I'm 40 years old now. I still have no wealth—no house, no car, no money. I don't know what the future holds either. But what I know is I must never have debt. I have no debt, and that's our good fortune. This is what my mother taught me—we don't need money, but children must never have debt."
"Without debt, then take care of your health. Since childhood, I've remembered this teaching. Though I haven't taken great care of my physical health, I have always remembered and followed my mother's teaching about not having debt."
Entertainment friends send birthday wishes and encouragement:
"I'm not a good person or talented person, but I've never borrowed money from anyone or owed anyone money. I've never cheated anyone or stolen from anyone. Even though I don't have much, I've never asked anyone for free money or borrowed from anyone."
"This year, I ask that my mental and physical health improve somewhat. May good things come. I wish for all my friends, seniors, and juniors to encounter good things. May God protect us and grant us strong health and peace of mind. Let's fight through this together."
Friends from the entertainment industry such as Beam Seranyou, Ae Supchai, Bo Surattanawee, and Kai Meesuk came to celebrate his birthday and offer encouragement, along with his fans.
