Two Medical Schools Unite For SIRA RUN 2026
Two leading medical schools at Mahidol University are organizing SIRA RUN 2026, a community running event scheduled for August 30, 2026, to promote health awareness and strengthen collaboration between medical institutions and the public.
Ramathibodi Hospital's Faculty of Medicine at Mahidol University and Siriraj Hospital's Faculty of Medicine at Mahidol University held a press conference to announce "Run Together...Run with Siriraj-Ramathibodi 2026" (SIRA RUN 2026).
The event aims to encourage medical professionals, students, and the general public to understand the importance of regular exercise, build stronger health, reduce the risk of chronic diseases, and establish collaborative networks for health promotion between medical institutions and the community. This will lead to sustainable improvements in quality of life and wellbeing.
The press conference featured speakers including Prof. Atit Angarnnont, Dean of Ramathibodi Hospital's Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Abhichat Asvamongkolkul, Dean of Siriraj Hospital's Faculty of Medicine; Assoc. Prof. Theeravut Thammaviboolsri, Associate Dean for Health Promotion at Siriraj Hospital's Faculty of Medicine, serving as joint event committee chair; and Prof. Banyong Pakdikitcharoen, Assistant Dean for Health Promotion at Ramathibodi Hospital's Faculty of Medicine, also serving as joint event committee chair. Running influencers Somjeed Thidaratana and Pok Itthiphol Samutthong participated as special guests.
The SIRA RUN 2026 will take place on Sunday, August 30, 2026, with participants running from Ramathibodi to Siriraj Hospital. The event offers two race distances: 10.5 kilometers and 8 kilometers. For updates and additional information, follow the SIRA RUN Facebook fanpage.
