Investigators have identified 10 suspicious sites in the illegal industrial waste dumping case in Sa Kaeo province, with four locations in Mueang Sa Kaeo district and six in Watthana Nakhon district. Police have already charged six landowners with illegal possession of Category 3 hazardous substances without permission. Pol. Maj. Gen. Kitipong Wisanuson, Sa Kaeo Provincial Police Commander, revealed that officers are urgently gathering witnesses and evidence and expanding the investigation to those involved in secretly transporting industrial waste for dumping, to proceed with legal action. On October 23, administrative officials joined police to inspect and seize an 18-wheel trailer truck in Sa Khwan subdistrict, Mueang Sa Kaeo, after receiving a tip that the vehicle might be involved in hauling industrial waste into the area for disposal. Currently, officials are coordinating with Provincial Police Region 2 to expand the investigation to trace the waste source in Chachoengsao province, while verifying related witnesses and evidence to connect to individuals or groups who may have committed the offense. Meanwhile, Sa Kaeo province has established four inspection checkpoints covering both main and secondary routes to monitor and prevent further illegal transport of industrial waste into the area. Officials are also asking for public cooperation: if suspicious trucks are spotted or abnormal dumping of industrial materials and waste is found on abandoned land or private property, the public should immediately report it to police or relevant agencies. For this case, authorities will continue to expand the investigation to trace the waste origin and all involved parties, aiming to prevent impacts on the environment, water sources, and public health in the area.
