Sailor Pin Chanok Claims Asian Games Gold, Aims World Champion
Thai sailor Pin Chanok Kliawsubun won the gold medal in the ILCA4 women's youth sailing event at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya 2026. She said the victory revived her passion after previously considering quitting, and dedicated the win to all Thais. Pin Chanok now aims to become Thailand's first female world champion in sailing.
Pin Chanok Kliawsubun, a member of the Thai national sailing team, recently captured the gold medal in the ILCA4 women's youth category at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya 2026 on October 3. Speaking after the race, she said, 'I am extremely happy; it feels like the dream I had set for myself has become reality. Earlier I had thought about quitting for a long time, but this Asian Games made me feel like I was starting over and getting serious again.' She added that she had trained and competed abroad many times to prepare for this edition, and wanted to dedicate the medal to all Thais for representing the country to the best of her ability. Pin Chanok noted that facing strong competitors, she focused on her own technique, basics, and controlling her nerves. She described the gold as deeply meaningful, a major goal in her life, and said her next ambition is to become Thailand's first female world champion in sailing.
