Thailand's men's volleyball team successfully avenged an earlier loss, sweeping Cambodia 3-0 in sets to secure a spot in the finals of the 6th SEA V Cup 2026 Pool 2, held in Jakarta, Indonesia on July 25. The semifinal match saw Thailand's world-ranked 58th team, Pool B champions, face Cambodia, ranked 128th and runners-up in Pool A. In the first pool competition, Thailand finished third while Cambodia made history by claiming the championship; Cambodia had previously defeated Thailand in that pool's semifinals.
Coach Park Ki-won fielded Thailand's starting lineup led by players Naphadej Pinijdee, Chaiwat Thungkhram, Thanathot Thaweerat, Thanasart Bamrungpakdee, Thoopdisit Prapput, and Bunyarit Wongthorn, with Phakpong Khuangnork as the libero. Thailand dominated the match, taking the first set 25-18 with an impressive start. In the second set, Thailand maintained its lead from the beginning and secured another victory 25-19 to go up 2-0. In the third set, Thailand continued to play confidently while Cambodia's performance deteriorated significantly, allowing Thailand to clinch the final set 25-18 and complete a 3-0 sweep. The final scores were 25-18, 25-19, and 25-18, securing Thailand's advancement to the championship final.
