Stone Carver's Good Fortune: Lottery Ticket Seller Wins First Prize Worth 6 Million Baht After Helping a Vendor
A stone carver from Nakhon Ratchasima won 6 million baht in the May lottery after buying a ticket from a vendor out of kindness, surprising himself with the windfall.
A stone carver working from home won the first prize of 6 million baht in the lottery draw held on May 1, 2569. Sai Thong Prako Tan, 59, from Ban Sab Samborn in Sikhiew District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, filed a report at the local police station after winning with ticket number 536077.
Sai Thong explained that a lottery vendor came to his home in the afternoon with three remaining tickets and asked for help selling them. Although he didn't particularly like the numbers, he decided to purchase one ticket out of kindness. He didn't expect to win.
When he watched the lottery results on television and saw the winning number 536077 announced, he was overjoyed. He initially told his family they had won, though they didn't believe him until they checked the ticket themselves. Sai Thong said he plans to use the money for merit-making and to save some for his descendants.
