Suspected Getaway Pickup Torched Near Ranger Shooting Site
A pickup truck suspected as the attackers' getaway vehicle was found completely burned near a ranger checkpoint in Narathiwat where gunmen killed five rangers and wounded five civilians in a coordinated assault using pipe bombs and gunfire.
Authorities have discovered a pickup truck completely destroyed by fire in Sri Sakhon district, Narathiwat province, near where masked gunmen in dark clothing attacked the Buketa Sami ranger checkpoint in Rangae district. The assailants used pipe bombs and gunfire in the attack, which left five rangers dead and five civilians wounded, including a 10-year-old boy. The burned truck was found near Eo Suo Dor waterfall on July 22, 2025, and preliminary reports suggest it was the getaway vehicle used by the attackers before they fled into the forest in Sri Sakhon district. Officials believe the truck was set on fire to destroy evidence. However, details and connections to the attack remain under investigation by forensic experts pending official confirmation.
