TEAMG, in partnership with consortium members, has secured the construction supervision contract for the Light Red Line suburban rail extension from Siriraj to Talad Noi to Salaya, including three additional stations at Rama VI Bridge, Bang Kruai-MEA, and Ban Chimplee, valued at 392 million baht. TEAMG CEO Chavalit Chantaratna stated that the company will oversee project management, monitor construction quality, ensure compliance with contract terms, and support the State Railway of Thailand in delivering quality work on schedule.
The project is a priority infrastructure initiative for the government and Transport Ministry, extending the existing Red Line from Bang Suo-Talad Noi westward into the Siriraj and Salaya areas to improve public transport connectivity and support future urban expansion. The target opening date is 2029.
The overall Light Red Line extension spans 20.49 kilometers with a total construction budget of 15,176 million baht, covering ground-level track, elevated sections, existing track upgrades, and new track construction. The project includes nine new stations: Siriraj, Bang Khun Non, Talad Noi, Rama VI Bridge, Bang Kruai-MEA, Ban Chimplee, Ratchayothin, Sala Dham Sop, and Salaya, plus six U-turn bridges and electrical, signaling, telecommunications, and operational support systems.
Chavalit noted that the Red Line project represents a crucial upgrade to the city's west-side mass transit network, connecting Bangkok to important economic, educational, and medical centers through an expanded rail infrastructure network.
