Thailand Launches TH‑AI Passport 2.0 with Google Gemini Licenses
Thailand’s Digital Economy and Society Ministry announced that the TH‑AI Passport initiative has signed up more than 1.57 million people for AI training and aims to reach three million within three months. Through a new partnership with Google, the program will distribute 500,000 Gemini Enterprise licenses under AiPASS 2.0, offering a three‑level skill ladder from basic AI tools to advanced agent‑based applications. Officials said they will assess the program’s impact after another quarter to determine whether it has succeeded.
The ministry reported that since its launch, TH‑AI Passport has drawn over 1.57 million users, with the first million signing up in just two days and one in seven being freelancers or business owners. To move learners from AI education to practical use, the program has teamed up with Google to provide 500,000 Gemini Enterprise licenses under the AiPASS x Gemini Enterprise offering, which enables AI agents to automatically perform tasks such as summarizing documents, managing emails and processing large data sets while integrating with users’ existing email, calendar and files. A three‑tier skill pathway has been established: beginners use AiPASS with access to more than 30 AI models and auto‑model selection; intermediate learners who earn 1,000 points can apply for Gemini Enterprise access between 9 October and 2 November 2026, with use beginning 9 November 2026; advanced users can join a developer track starting January 2027 that includes APIs and regional bootcamps to build real‑world solutions with global partners. Officials said they will evaluate the program’s success after one more quarter and aim to prepare Thailand for a full‑scale Agentic AI era.
