Thai Singer Reports Death Threats from Stalker Fan to Police
Thai singer Ploy Chompu reported to cyber police that an unknown fan has been harassing her with death threats via social media for over a year. She said the stalker’s behavior has escalated to threatening her friends and coworkers, leaving her feeling unsafe and suffering panic attacks. Ploy Chompu urged authorities to act so she and those around her can live without fear.
The singer said she first became aware of the problem the previous night after calling her manager for advice. The alleged stalker, who claimed to be a fan, had been sending her messages for over a year, starting with sexually charged content that she tried to stop by blocking the account, only to see the harasser create new profiles. She then restricted the account’s access instead of blocking it fully to avoid seeing the messages daily.
Over time, the behavior escalated. The harasser monitored her activity across Instagram and TikTok, accused her of infidelity when she followed others, and began targeting her friends and coworkers by sharing their screenshots and sending violent threats, including threats to harm or kill them. As a result, Ploy Chompu said she no longer feels safe in her daily life, especially when she has to work or perform live, because she cannot completely conceal her whereabouts. She suffers from panic attacks and takes anti‑anxiety medication when she goes outside, and the stress is compounded by other personal and legal issues she is already facing.
She decided to file the police report to end the fear that threatens her and those close to her, emphasizing that every woman should be able to live her daily life without fear of harassment. She hopes her case will serve as an example for others experiencing similar situations.
