Thai Actors Nam Nueng and Ney Open Up About Their On-Screen Chemistry
Nam Nueng and Ney star in new Thai series "The Fire: Chain of Fire," which premiered Saturday on 7HD, with the actors crediting their nine-year partnership for their convincing on-screen chemistry as rival-turned-lovers.
The Fire: Chain of Fire, the latest series from Wath Nivanitchkul House, has officially launched, starring Nam Nueng Milinya and Ney Kanthira as "Fire," a strong-willed heiress of the Aacni Group, and "Grapao," a new assistant who grew up as childhood rivals. The series airs Saturdays at 8:30 p.m. on 7HD, with an uncensored online version available at 9:30 p.m. on iQIYI.
At the premiere event, host Tick Kanya Ratna praised the on-screen chemistry between Nam Nueng and Ney, describing them as a lively and charming couple reminiscent of tongue and teeth—complementary yet contentious. When asked how long they love each other, Nam Nueng replied, "They love each other all the time, both on screen and in real life," while Ney added, "We love sometimes and get angry sometimes." Nam Nueng countered, "If we didn't love each other, how could we have lasted nine years?"
Nam Nueng revealed that the role required considerable energy due to the series' emphasis on playful conflict and genuine emotion, noting that seeing the final product made all the exhausting work worthwhile. She described her character as direct, hot-tempered, and unapologetically sincere, while Ney's character is charming and kind but becomes sharp-tongued when with Fire, creating a dynamic full of love and conflict.
