Thai Designer Maxy Lala Designs Winning Miss Global 2026 Gown

Thai designer Maxy Harnsongkram, known as Maxy Lala, crafted the silver‑white evening gown that helped Saffron Maya Snook win Thailand’s first Miss Global 2026 title. She explains the detailed design process, which considered movement, lighting, broadcast effects, and the wearer’s comfort. The gown’s success lies in how naturally it complements the contestant, rather than just its visual appeal.

The gown’s design went far beyond aesthetics; every element had to support the wearer under the real pressures of the stage. Maxy Lala considered the contestant’s personality, physique, and movement, as well as lighting, camera angles, and the live broadcast, because what looks perfect in the fitting room can appear different on screen. Fabrics that reflect too much light can lose detail on camera, while certain colors and textures shift under stage lighting, so the design had to work for both the live audience and viewers at home.

The dress also needed to move freely with the wearer—whether walking, turning, or changing posture—since any restriction could affect confidence and presentation. Drawing from her own experience as a Miss Tiffany’s Universe 2025 contestant, Maxy Lala understood the limitations of costumes from the wearer’s perspective.

Another challenge was creating a gown that was memorable yet did not distract from the woman wearing it, balancing the differing expectations of judges in the venue and online fans watching the stream. Online discourse shapes perceptions, so the design aimed to set a clear, fitting image rather than trying to please every taste.

For Maxy Lala, a successful evening gown is not the most beautiful one on a hanger, but the one that feels like an extension of the wearer’s body and movements when worn, making every element appear harmonious. This philosophy is reflected in the silver‑white gown that crowned Saffron Maya Snook as Thailand’s first Miss Global winner.
