Thai Fan Honors Ray McDonald With Rayron Tattoo
A devoted fan from Chainat province got a Rayron tattoo to honor actor and travel personality Ray McDonald, who died August 19 at 49 from heart disease; McDonald's work inspired the fan to travel solo and name his son after the town of Pai.
Following the death of renowned actor and presenter Ray McDonald, 49, who passed away from triple coronary artery disease on August 19, a 44-year-old fan named Jatunun Nuntvisut from Chainat province has decided to get a tattoo of the Rayron logo—the iconic travel content channel created by Ray McDonald—on his back as a tribute to his idol and source of inspiration. Jatunun recalled meeting Ray nearly 20 years ago while working as part of a fashion show team, and being struck by his warm and approachable personality. The turning point came when Ray's film "Pai in Love" inspired Jatunun to embark on his first solo backpacking journey, even booking accommodation at the Pai locations where Ray had filmed scenes. He was so captivated by the town that he named his son "Pai" in its honor. To this day, Jatunun continues to follow Ray's example by regularly riding his motorcycle on travel adventures whenever time permits. He is now coordinating with members of the Chainat Scooter group to travel together for Ray's funeral on August 21, pending confirmation of the final schedule.
