A resident was jolted awake by a loud crash when a large truck wheel suddenly fell from nowhere, striking a parked car and causing extensive damage to potted plants and a shop sign. The marching band of Ammartpanichnukul School in Krabi has brought home two major awards from an international competition in China and received an invitation to perform at Peking University. The school's marching band previously won the championship at the Korat Band of Thailand (KBOT), competing for the royal trophy of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, and was selected to represent Thailand at an international competition in China.

The delegation of 91 people, comprising 72 students and 19 parents and supervisors, was led by marching band director Suphawat Thongkaew and travelled via Thai Airways between Krabi and Beijing. The band recently made Thailand proud by winning the championship at the DRUM CORPS ASIA – International Marching Arts Competition, held in Baodi, Tianjin, from July 19 to 21, 2026.

The students won first place in the Marching Field Show category as well as the Best Performance award, along with a cash prize. The Royal Thai Embassy in Beijing hosted a luncheon to congratulate the students and celebrate their achievement. The band was additionally invited to give a special performance at Peking University, marking another proud achievement for Thai youth and providing an opportunity to showcase Thailand's reputation, culture and potential on the international stage.

Thailand national football team head coach Anthony Hudson acknowledged that his squad will enter the 2026 AFF Championship with lower fitness levels than some other nations, but expressed confidence they can still perform well. Midfielder Saraç Uygun said the key factor was physical condition, noting that while Thailand started training later than others, the coaching staff had invested heavily in building their strength throughout the camp. He acknowledged that the AFF Championship is not an easy tournament, as every team has quality and various factors affect the competition, including travel and fan influence. "When the tournament arrives, there are no excuses—we must give our best performance," he said.

Defender Manuel Tom Bier commented that he observed strong team unity in camp, with young star players joking around with him in a fun atmosphere. He noted they had two more training sessions before the first match and expressed optimism about starting the tournament well.
