MotoGP Group has officially announced that Thailand will host the 2027 season-opening race at Chang International Circuit in Buriram from March 5–7, 2027, marking the third consecutive year Thailand has held this prestigious honor. The 2027 Thailand Grand Prix will be historic as the first race worldwide where fans will witness the new-generation MotoGP machinery compete under the sport's fresh technical regulations, which will remain in effect through 2031.
MotoGP Group emphasized that Thailand's selection as the season opener for three consecutive years underscores the nation's rising importance in the championship and the region's booming motorsports fan base. The Chang International Circuit in Buriram has established itself as one of the world's premier racing venues; the 2026 season opener drew a record 228,228 spectators and saw Marco Bezzecchi score a thrilling victory for Aprilia.
