Thailand Wins SEA V Cup Volleyball Opening Leg
Thailand's women's volleyball team swept Vietnam 3-0 in the opening leg of the SEA V Cup in Hanoi, finishing the round undefeated with three straight wins.
Thailand's women's volleyball team won the opening leg of the SEA V Cup 2026 with a commanding 3-0 victory over hosts Vietnam on July 31 at Dông An Gymnasium in Hanoi. The Thai team, ranked 17th in the world, swept the hosts ranked 27th with set scores of 25-18, 25-17, and 25-14. Thailand finished the opening leg undefeated with three consecutive wins and 8 points, while Vietnam finished second with 6 points from two wins and one loss.
After the match, head coach Giertti Ratchatagreangkrai praised the team's form, saying all players performed well and the team started with focus and concentration. He commended both senior and junior players for their good spirit, adding that while today's success was achieved, the effort does not stop here.
The second leg of the BYD DMI 6th SEA V Cup will be held from August 7-9, 2026 at the Chiang Mai Sports Complex (700 Years) in Chiang Mai province.
