Toi Traipop Ends 40-Year Channel 3 Run for Digital Shift
Veteran TV host Toi Traipop announced he is leaving Channel 3 after more than 40 years to shift his production company Born Operations entirely online. He confirmed the company is not bankrupt but restructuring, ending shows "Today Show" and "Krua Khun Toi" by December 31 to launch new digital formats like "KitchenToi Talk" and live talk shows.
Toi Traipop Limpapath held an urgent press conference after an internal document leaked, confirming his company is not losing money or ceasing operations but adapting per a long-prepared plan. He has agreed with Channel 3 to stop producing "Today Show" and "Krua Khun Toi" on Channel 33 by the end of December, shifting fully to online platforms with new shows such as "KitchenToi Talk" and live talk events to continue providing meaningful content.
Toi revealed the leaked document was an internal legal notice about restructuring, not a closure announcement. After consulting with Channel 3 — a publicly listed company and his workplace — they decided to halt the two shows by December 31, with about three months' notice. "As a captain on this ocean for over 40 years, I've weathered many storms, but this is the strongest," Toi said. "We either fight and drown, or bring the ship to shore and save the crew." He asked his staff of around 400 — many in their 50s and 60s with no retirement age — to choose; all voted to bring the ship to shore.
"The company is not broke," Toi emphasized. "We're just moving production platforms. The company still exists entirely. Restructuring isn't easy, but when the seas calm, I'm ready to sail again. This doesn't mean leaving TV forever or stopping work — it's adaptation. As a businessman responsible for 100 lives, I must do it right. I've prepared for three years for this online move. Knowledge is the new core asset; whoever watched 'Krua Khun Toi' knows gastronomy and wisdom are key."
