Two Chaiyaphum Men Arrested with 2 Million Meth Pills in Saraburi
Police in Saraburi arrested two men from Chaiyaphum and seized 2 million methamphetamine pills hidden in a Honda Jazz. The suspects confessed they were paid 100,000 baht to transport the drugs for distribution in local communities. One suspect has prior drug convictions, and authorities are pursuing the larger trafficking network behind the operation.
On November 2 at approximately 6:30 AM, a joint team from the 6th Narcotics Suppression Division and the 6th Army Area Military Police intercepted a white Honda Jazz on the Ban Na-Kaeng Khoi Road in Talat Daew Subdistrict, Kaeng Khoi District, Saraburi Province. Acting on intelligence about a major drug network planning a handover in the area, officers surrounded the suspicious vehicle. The driver attempted to flee by reversing into a police car, but officers quickly detained both occupants: a 29-year-old and a 33-year-old, both from Chaiyaphum. A search of the vehicle revealed 10 bags containing approximately 2 million methamphetamine pills in the trunk.
During initial questioning, both suspects confessed they had been hired to transport the drugs to the meeting point for a payment of 100,000 baht for living expenses. The 29-year-old has prior convictions for Category 1 drug possession (methamphetamine) in 2019 and drug use in 2021, both in Bamnet Narong District, Chaiyaphum. The 33-year-old has no criminal record. Both were charged with jointly selling Category 1 narcotics (methamphetamine) by possessing with intent to sell, violating drug laws for commercial purposes, causing distribution to the public, and affecting state security or public safety. They were handed over to investigators for legal proceedings, while authorities continue working to expand the investigation to the larger network behind the operation.
