Former Municipal Health Official Arrested for Embezzling Health Fund
A former municipal health official in Si Prachan was arrested Nov. 3 for allegedly embezzling 930,00
On November 4, 2026, Phumwisan Ketsuk, Secretary-General of the NHSO Board, ordered Chiya Sirirak, Director of NHSO Region 7, along with Pol. Lt. Col. Chusakul Suthisrisin, Attawat Prakhenri, and Piyaphon Premyothin, to coordinate with investigators from Crime Suppression Division Sub-Division 3 (CSD 3) and Provincial Police Region 7 Investigation Division to track down and arrest N.N., a suspect wanted under warrant No. 59/2026 dated September 11, 2026, issued by the Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases Region 7.
The suspect, formerly a senior public health official at the Public Health and Environment Division of a subdistrict municipality in Si Prachan, Suphan Buri, was responsible for finance and accounting as head of the health security fund unit. She allegedly exploited her position to forge withdrawal slips and checks by altering numbers and letters to show higher amounts than approved, then pocketed the difference. She also forged the fund's bank passbook to support false financial reports and concealed it from auditors, causing the passbook to go missing without reporting to the mayor or fund chair. The Wang Wa Subdistrict Municipality suffered damages of 930,000 baht.
The NHSO Board found grounds for prosecution, but the suspect failed to appear before prosecutors as scheduled, prompting a request for an arrest warrant. Investigation revealed she had opened a shop in Si Prachan, where NHSO Region 7 staff and CSD 3 officers arrested her on November 3. She was transferred to the Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases Region 7 for legal proceedings.
