University Student Arrested After Drunk Driving BMW Into Motorcycle, Rider Killed; Family Posts 120,000 Baht Bail
A drunk BMW driver killed a 27-year-old motorcyclist in Pathum Thani early on April 30 and was released on 120,000-baht bail after police found his blood alcohol level at 93 milligrams percent.
A university student has been arrested and bailed after a drunk driving incident involving a luxury BMW that rear-ended a motorcycle, resulting in the rider's death. The incident occurred around 2:00 AM on April 30, 2025, near a condominium on Bangkhan-Nong Sua Road in Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province. The deceased rider was identified as Alongkorn, 27 years old.
Police from Khlong Luang Station conducted an alcohol breath test and found the suspect's blood alcohol level at 93 milligrams percent. He was charged with drunk driving and reckless driving causing another person's death and property damage.
On May 1, 2025, investigators brought the suspect, Phumin, before Thanyaburi Provincial Court. His family submitted a bail application with collateral, and the court approved his temporary release with a bail bond set at 120,000 baht. The suspect posted the full amount in cash and has been ordered to report to court on July 27, 2025.
