Woman Dies After Doctor Damages Bladder During Childbirth Surgery
A 35-year-old woman died after a surgeon allegedly damaged her bladder and uterus during a cesarean delivery at a northern Thailand hospital, prompting an investigation by health authorities into the fatal surgical error.
The Pueena Hongsukul Foundation has received a complaint from a husband whose 35-year-old wife died following a cesarean delivery at a northern Thailand hospital. The husband alleges that during what should have been a routine childbirth surgery, the surgeon accidentally damaged his wife's bladder and uterus, resulting in severe hemorrhaging and her death. He is seeking justice and submitted evidence to the foundation. The foundation has acknowledged the complaint and coordinated with the Ministry of Public Health inspector. On August 6, they will travel to Chiang Mai to meet with Dr. Piya Siriluk, Regional Health Inspector (Zone 1), along with the medical staff involved in the case. The hospital has formed an investigation committee to determine the actual cause of death and is prepared to provide compensation to the deceased's family.
