On February 15, 2026, Pha Mueang Forces, including the 2nd Cavalry Unit and Special Task Force Chaiyanubhap, set up a checkpoint to prevent drug-related offenses in Ban Rin Luang, Mueang Na Subdistrict, Chiang Dao District, Chiang Mai Province. They intercepted an Isuzu NQR white-blue 6-wheel truck with license plate 71-9420 Nakhon Pathom, loaded with fresh ginger. After stopping the suspicious driver, they discovered 50 modified sacks containing approximately 9,970,000 methamphetamine pills hidden under the ginger sacks. The driver confessed to being hired to deliver the drugs to Talad Thai Market in Khlong Luang, Pathum Thani Province, for a payment of 150,000 baht. Major General Sathit Waiyanon, Commander of Pha Mueang Forces, personally inspected the seized drugs and handed them over to Chiang Dao Police Station for further legal proceedings.
