Cavalry troops from the Pha Mueang Force set up a checkpoint and intercepted a truck carrying ginger, with the driver displaying suspicious behavior. On February 14, 2024, Major General Sathit Waiyanont, Commander of the Pha Mueang Force, received a report of the drug seizure at the checkpoint in Ban Rin Luang, Mueang Na Subdistrict, Chiang Dao District, Chiang Mai Province. Following intelligence about drug transportation, the 2nd Cavalry Squadron, Pha Dam, Special Task Force Chai Anupap established the checkpoint. Around 11:00 AM, they stopped a white 6-wheel truck with Nakhon Pathom license plates. The driver appeared nervous and was asked to exit the vehicle. A search revealed 50 modified sacks containing approximately 9,970,000 methamphetamine pills. The commander coordinated with relevant agencies and handed the case over to Na Wai Police Station for further legal proceedings.
