Supreme Court Removes 3 MP Candidates from Major Political Parties Due to Prior Criminal Convictions
On February 3, 2026, the Election Division of the Supreme Court published its ruling removing three MP candidates from three political parties due to previous criminal convictions. The candidates include Patiphat Muangsuwan from the Phol Wat Party in Nakhon Si Thammarat, who was convicted of check-related offenses; Natthatunradee Preenapatcahaisiri from the Thai Sang Thai Party in Chonburi, also with check fraud convictions; and Boonserm Hathayanon from the Phuea Baan Muang Party in Nakhon Si Thammarat, who was convicted of theft. The court ruled that these candidates are disqualified from running in the election due to having criminal records within the past ten years, in accordance with Thai constitutional provisions.
