Phetchaburi is a historic city with a continuous lineage of renowned Buddhist masters, such as Luang Por Chaem of Wat Nayaeng, Luang Por Daeng of Wat Khao Bandai It, Luang Por Thongsuk of Wat Tonot Luang, and Luang Por Phiu of Wat Tan Long. One particularly famous master is Luang Por Aun Sukkamo, also known as 'Phra Khru Winai Wachara Kit', the former abbot of Wat Tan Long in Mab Pla Khao, Tha Yang District, Phetchaburi Province. Born into the Inprom family on Friday, March 9, 1916, in Nong Hin Thuang Village, he was ordained at age 20 on July 21, 1936, at Wat Tan Long. After ordination, he studied Buddhist scriptures and received teachings from various masters, particularly Luang Por Thongsuk of Wat Tonot Luang. During his lifetime, he created numerous sacred amulets and talismans, with his most popular being the 'Coin Series of 2540' - a commemorative coin issued in 9 gold, 99 silver, 500 bronze, and 10,000 alpaca metal versions. The coin features his portrait and specific markings, and is now considered rare and highly collectible.
