Mock Referendum Closes: 470 People Vote to Remove Election Commission
Leaders from the Thammasat and Assembly United Group, along with citizens, closed the ballot boxes for a mock referendum to remove the Election Commission at 7:30 PM on February 15, 2024. A total of 470 people participated in the voting activity. Representatives collected voting booths, sealed the ballot boxes with clear tape, and prepared the counting area. During the vote counting, they used colored baskets labeled with different categories like 'no vote', 'valid ballot', and 'invalid ballot', and attached papers to a whiteboard. The counting process was conducted transparently, with members opening the ballot box, displaying and announcing each vote. Despite a brief power outage during counting, the process continued smoothly.
