Yala Municipality successfully promoted its Deep South heritage through 15 local brands at the Grand Halal Bangkok 2026 fair at BITEC Bangna from July 15–17, 2025. Throughout the three-day event, the Yala exhibition area—featuring processed foods, drinks, fashion, and health products—became a thriving hub that captivated visitors with local wisdom and charm. The response exceeded expectations, drawing diverse age groups and nationalities, demonstrating that Yala's community products, elevated through innovation and international standards, appeal to both everyday consumers and major business partners.
Local food brands led the success, with standouts including homemade chili paste (Nam Phrik Sod Sai) known for authentic Southern flavor, and crispy candied plantain chips (Kluay Hin Tod Karop Trang Nang Ta) certified with a geographical indication (GI) mark. Representatives reported that the response was extraordinary, with both Thai customers making repeat purchases and foreign business owners from Malaysia, the Philippines, and China inquiring about OEM production and wholesale volumes. Modern trade retailers and convenience store chains also approached brands interested in stocking their products, citing their complete certifications in pharmaceutical standards, halal, and OTOP five-star ratings.
The excitement extended to specialty products including MacaDurian—freeze-dried durian filled with macadamia nuts—premium coffee from Kirihkhet featuring robusta beans with brown sugar notes, and LABAN SOY premium soy milk made from 100% non-GMO beans. All attracted significant interest from modern retail buyers and convenience store chains impressed by their complete compliance with pharmaceutical, halal, and ISO standards. Skincare and wellness products, particularly CHALOM cold-pressed coconut oil with over 12 years of heritage, also gained traction in the wellness trend.
