Army Region 2 Commander Visits Recruits' Open House Event
Army Region 2's commander visited new recruits at an Open House event in Nakhon Ratchasima, allowing families to tour the military camp and learn about training and welfare services.
On July 4, 2026, at the 3rd Engineer Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division at Suranari Camp in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Lieutenant General Wirayuth Raksil, Commander of Army Region 2, along with senior officers, visited to oversee the "Open House" event for the first batch of new recruits in 2026.
The Open House is a significant initiative designed to open the military camp to families and relatives of new recruits, allowing them to experience their loved ones' daily military life closely. Relatives can tour training areas, sleeping quarters, and dining facilities while learning about welfare systems and medical care provided.
Beyond boosting morale among new recruits, the event reassures families that the military will provide excellent care for each recruit as "the youngest member of the Royal Thai Army" through discipline training, quality-of-life management, and capability development to serve the nation.
