20-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed Under Truck Wheels
A 20-year-old motorcyclist in Nakhon Si Thammarat was killed after being sideswiped by an 18-wheel truck and run over on Asia Highway 41, his body severely crushed.
Nakhon Si Thammarat: A tragic accident occurred when an 18-wheel articulated truck sideswiped a motorcycle, causing the rider to fall. The 20-year-old was then run over by the truck's wheels, his body severely mangled and severed in two places. The motorcycle was completely destroyed. August 16, 2025 – Colonel Chaiyapat Sriruang, superintendent of Tham Phannara Police Station in Nakhon Si Thammarat, received a report of a collision between an 18-wheel truck and a motorcycle on Asia Highway 41, Moo 6, Tham Phannara subdistrict, Tham Phannara district. One fatality was reported. Investigators immediately responded along with an on-duty doctor from Tham Phannara Hospital and volunteers from the Thai Red Cross Foundation to examine the accident scene. At the scene, police found the victim, identified as Ji Nansommutti, 20 years old, from Din Daeng subdistrict, Lam Tup district, Krabi, deceased with his body severely mangled and two major sections severed, having been crushed by the truck. A red motorcycle was found at the scene in complete disrepair. The 18-wheel truck remained parked near the accident location. Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was riding his motorcycle along the highway when he sideswiped the truck, causing him to fall onto the road. The truck then ran over him a second time, resulting in his death. The truck driver was taken into custody for questioning and will face legal proceedings.
