34 Forex Suspects Including Politician, Ex-Actress Referred for Prosecution
Thai authorities referred 34 suspects in a Forex-3D investment scheme to prosecutors this week, including a ruling party MP and former actress, with charges to follow after bail hearings.
Justice Minister Rutthapol Naowarat announced on September 22 at Government House that the Department of Special Investigation is preparing to bring 34 suspects in the Forex-3D case before prosecutors this week, including People's Party list MP Pavut Pongvitthayapanus and former actress Rattaphumi Tokongthrap. The defendants comprise 10 corporate entities and 24 individuals. The DSI director has signed and submitted case documents to prosecutors, who will then summon the suspects for preliminary hearings. When asked whether prosecutors would file charges immediately, Rutthapol clarified they would not; instead, prosecutors will first decide on bail or temporary release procedures according to their regulations, followed by further evidence collection.
