Man Arrested for Luring Student, Recording Video for Blackmail
A 24-year-old Ayutthaya vocational student was arrested in Bangkok for luring a 15-year-old girl via Facebook, secretly recording intimate moments, and using the video to blackmail her into staying in the relationship.
On September 22, 2569 (2026), police commanded by Deputy Police General Withaya Sripraseritpap, head of the Tourist Police Division, ordered the arrest of 24-year-old Kriang Kai (surname withheld) under Ayutthaya Provincial Court warrant No. 632/2567 dated November 7, 2567 (2024). He faces charges of abducting a minor aged 15 to 18 for profit or sexual exploitation with the minor's consent, and transporting a minor aged 15 to 18 for sexual purposes even with consent. The arrest was made in the Saphan Sung district of Bangkok.
Investigations reveal that in early 2567 (2024), the victim—a Grade 6 student at a prominent school—met the suspect, a vocational student from Ayutthaya, through Facebook. On May 14, 2567 (2024), he messaged her with a pretext to visit a local market, then picked her up by motorcycle. En route, he diverted to a hotel in Wang Noi district, falsely coaxing her to sleep with him without her agreement. He secretly installed a camera to record intimate moments without her knowledge, intending to use the footage for control and extortion.
In early June 2567 (2024), the victim tried to distance herself and end the relationship, but the suspect refused. He sent her the recorded video via chat and threatened to publicize it if she broke up with him. Terrified, she felt forced to comply. On September 17, 2567 (2024), a classmate showed the victim an explicit video circulating throughout the school, asking if it was her. Devastated by the humiliation and psychological impact, she confided in her mother, who filed a complaint at Wang Noi Police Station. This led to the court warrant and eventual arrest. The suspect confessed during questioning and was transferred to Wang Noi Police Station for further legal proceedings.
