Activist Demands Probe Into Fake Land Documents, Bogus Abbott

Activist Pada has filed a complaint with Thailand’s anti‑corruption police, accusing officials of using forged land documents to appoint a fake abbot at a Khon Kaen forest temple. She claims the appointment dates back to 1935, before the Buddhist Sangha Act took effect, rendering it illegal and part of a 34‑year fraud. Pada also alleges fake arrest warrants, intimidation, and an ongoing struggle to reclaim land she says belongs to her family.

Pada and Bua Khai filed a complaint with the Police Anti-Corruption Bureau regarding the actions of Phra Khanong police and a land dispute involving Wat Pa Adulyaram. They revealed that an abbot appointment document dated February 28, 1935 is a forgery because the Buddhist Sangha Act was not enacted until March 5, 1935, making the appointment illegal and the fake documents have been used for 34 years. Pada also alleged fake arrest warrants from Phra Khanong police, said she lured those behind the land grab to produce false evidence, and endured public condemnation to obtain proof. She disputed the temple's legitimacy, challenged the religious committee, and insisted the 21-rai plot belongs to her ancestor Mr. Hieng Phimsri. Pada threatened to complain to Prime Minister Anutin and to abolish the Land Department if land transfers continue without proper authority. She described ongoing threats, intimidation, surveillance, and bail costs amounting to tens of millions of baht, with over 30 people detained in the case.
