Actress Supports Friend's Engagement, Encourages Co-star Over Film Drama

Actress Taew Nathapol expressed her joy at hearing the engagement news of her close friend Mint Chalida from the Fairybread group, who received a surprise marriage proposal. Taew immediately committed to serving as bridesmaid and offered enthusiastic support to her younger co-star Taa Hneung following criticism surrounding her new film role.

Taew, who appeared at the "Under One Moon: Love Without Borders" Mid-Autumn Festival celebration at KingSquare Community Mall in Bangkok, shared her feelings on the matter. "I'm thrilled after hearing the news. I have to admit we kept the secret really well because I knew along with everyone else. I'm ready to praise them on the real day—I'm confident the bride will be absolutely beautiful. Of course I'll fulfill my bridesmaid duties whenever the bride needs me. I'm very happy about it. We were supposed to have dinner yesterday but we both got sick, so we'll reschedule the whole gang soon. Mew Nithta is traveling now, but we all knew together. We kept the secret well. We've watched both of them for a long time and felt they matched perfectly. I already knew this day had to come. For me, Mint will always be young—I've known her since I was 17 and she joined the industry at 14, and we did our first drama together.

"So I still think of younger Mint as so young. When she told me she's getting married, I was like, wow, she's really grown up now. It's time. I'm happy because I feel this marks the beginning of her married life. I look back on when it was my turn and it was such a wonderful period. I'm so delighted for her. We'll update each other when we meet.

Regarding Taa Hneung facing backlash over the film, Taew said: "I'm not surprised there's been a reaction because people might hold onto certain beliefs. When it comes to matters of faith and Thai tradition, people question things. Personally, I have to say I really like Hneung's portrayal. This production intentionally wanted to refresh the image, telling a story set in a very distant, fantasy era. I feel Hneung's makeup and costume have a real fantasy quality, and as a warrior character, it's so cool. I really love it. So I'm sending encouragement to Hneung because I believe that if you watch the film and follow the story, people will gradually become more open-minded. I hope many people will go see it. It's not just about Hneung but the core of the story. Director Anucha (Pongpattana) is very dedicated. This isn't just about bringing up the Naga or Garuda mythologies again—it has a fundamental heart about love as the foundation of everything, told through war and the conflict between Garuda and Naga.
