Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Watharaphol Khaokham visited the site on November 1 to inspect preparations for the official opening of the Udon Thani International Horticultural Expo 2026 on November 2. The first day drew large numbers of both Thai and foreign tourists, causing traffic congestion at the entrance. The minister coordinated with Pol. Lt. Col. Phatthanawong Chanphon, superintendent of Mueang Udon Thani Police Station, and Pol. Maj. Chainarong Khantasima, deputy traffic commander, to manage traffic, facilitate parking, and ensure safety before Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, also the Interior Minister, arrives for the 6:00 PM grand opening. Minister Watharaphol ordered additional trams and shuttle buses at various points to match tourist volumes at different times after finding visitors faced long waits for the tram loop around the expo grounds.
