AIS and property giant Bangkok Land have announced a strategic partnership to transform the 4,000-rai Muang Thong area into Thailand's first "intelligent connected smart city." The development will feature cutting-edge 5G-Advanced technology and WiFi 7 infrastructure, with special focus on IMPACT Arena and Thunder Dome venues, enabling seamless 4K streaming, holographic projections, and extended reality experiences for the hundreds of thousands of annual visitors. Beyond entertainment venues, the entire development will incorporate AI-powered security cameras, smart traffic systems, and digital twin technology for real-time city management, allowing administrators to monitor all activity across the sprawling complex. The infrastructure will also enable smart living through high-speed fiber connectivity and cloud-based telemedicine services for residents. Executives from both companies emphasized that the technology is designed to serve ordinary people, bringing unprecedented safety, dignity, and access to advanced digital services rather than serving as a luxury showcase.
