Speeding Car Crashes Into Roadside Shelter, 75-Year-Old Woman Dies
A speeding sedan crashed into a roadside shelter near Thung Pao Temple in Lampang Province on July 17, killing a 75-year-old woman and injuring two others. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
On July 17, Wang Nuea Police Station received a report of a sedan crashing into a roadside shelter near Thung Pao Temple in Moo 4, Wang Nuea Subdistrict, Wang Nuea District, Lampang Province, resulting in one death and two injuries. Officers coordinated with forensic doctors at Wang Nuea Hospital and Wang Nuea rescue volunteers to investigate.
At the scene, a silver Mitsubishi sedan bearing a Lampoon license plate had collided with a wooden shelter parked in front of the temple. The deceased, identified as Srithon Nantakul, approximately 75 years old, was found at the scene. Two others were injured: Tan Uadru and Veeranun Trakul. Officers immediately transported them to Wang Nuea Hospital for treatment.
Upon notification, Tosapol Chakbunma, the Wang Nuea District Officer, along with Manas Kamtai, head of the Lampang Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, and Kirti Taisap, an Emergency Response Team officer from the Lampang Provincial office, Wang Nuea Branch, rushed to provide emergency assistance. Tosapol took command of operations, coordinated traffic, and worked with Wang Nuea Police Station, Wang Nuea Hospital, Wang Nuea rescue volunteers, Wang Nuea Subdistrict Municipality, and relevant agencies. The cause of the accident remains under police investigation.
