The fire broke out around 00:25 on September 30, 2026, when police from Don Mueang Station were alerted to a burning vehicle on Soi Vibhavadi Rangsit 72, in the Saphan Mai area near Phahonyothin Road. Officers arrived with Bang Khen Firefighters and the Don Mueang Fire and Rescue Unit, deploying two water trucks. They found a white electric car with a Bangkok license plate in the left lane, fully engulfed in fire. After approximately twenty minutes of water spraying, the fire was put out, leaving the car completely burned out. No one was hurt or killed. Preliminary inquiries revealed no driver or owner present. Local residents said that recent heavy rain had caused severe flooding on the road, making travel difficult and leaving several vehicles abandoned. Police suspect the burned electric car had been left behind during the flood and are now working to identify its owner to investigate the cause of the blaze.
