The Finance Ministry announced the results of the 2026 state welfare card registration, showing 11,254,921 people eligible out of 18,820,784 applicants. Of those, 8,592,931 already hold the card and 2,661,990 are new applicants identified through database checks and field surveys. About 7.6 million applicants did not meet the eligibility criteria. Eligible recipients must complete e‑KYC identity verification through Krung Thai Bank and the Paotang app by January 12, 2070, or at five other designated banks — Government Savings Bank, Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives, Government Housing Bank, Islamic Bank of Thailand, and Krung Thai Bank — by October 14 to receive an extra 700 baht, bringing the monthly allowance to 1,000 baht for October and November. Registrations after October will earn the standard 300 baht per month. Currently, 428,261 eligible people have not yet completed verification. Winij Wisetthawannapoom, director of the Fiscal Policy Office and ministry spokesman, said over 40 % of qualified recipients are aged over 60 and 30‑40 % are working‑age adults. He added that the government plans to improve their livelihoods through vocational training, elderly skill development, and expanding the Student Loan Fund to support welfare card holders. He noted the data integration and screening process now provides a clearer picture of the low‑income individuals who truly need assistance.
