Police Probe Electrocution Death of Man Found in Phuket Home
Police in Phuket are investigating the death of a man found inside a house in Kathu, with signs of electrocution on his right hand and a head wound. Wire‑cutting pliers were discovered near the air‑conditioner unit. The body has been sent to Vachira Phuket Hospital for autopsy.
At 12:10 p.m. on 18 October 2026, Police Lieutenant Wiriyapong Srinualpan of Kathu Police Station received a report of a man electrocuted to death inside a residence in Kathu subdistrict. Together with Police Colonel Chalermchai Hirschawat, forensic officials and rescue volunteers, they arrived at the scene and found a medium‑built man, about 170 cm tall, with reddish‑dark skin and no identification documents, lying dead inside the house. Nearby lay a pair of wire‑cutting pliers on the floor and a locking pair on the air‑conditioner’s hot coil. A preliminary autopsy revealed marks consistent with electric shock on the right hand and a wound on the occipital region. Authorities sent the body to hospital and will continue the investigation before releasing it to the family for religious rites.
