Man Found Dead Under House; Villagers Suspect Foul Play
A 46-year-old man was found dead beneath a house in Amnat Charoen province with apparent head injuries, prompting police to investigate whether foul play was involved. An autopsy is pending to determine the exact cause of death.
On September 22, Huataphan Police Station received a report that Prayan Chai, 46, was found dead beneath a house in Ban Kamphra village, Tambon Tamphra, Huataphan district, Amnat Charoen province. His 70-year-old mother discovered blood and apparent blunt-force injuries on his head. Police visited the scene and took his mother in for further questioning.
A neighbor told reporters that officers had forbidden discussion of details, but she believed the man may have been taken away and severely beaten before being returned home, where he subsequently died. Other villagers confirmed the deceased was a peaceful, harmless man with no known conflicts or enemies.
Police plan to send the body for a detailed autopsy at Srinagarindra Hospital in Ubon Ratchathani to determine the exact cause of death and examine how the injuries occurred. Officers declined to release details, saying the investigation is ongoing and no conclusion can yet be drawn about whether the death was due to assault or the involvement of any suspects. Results from a thorough medical examination by doctors are pending.
