Mother Suspects Son Was Killed Elsewhere Before Body Returned Home
A 46-year-old man found dead beneath his house in Amnat Charoen Province showed signs of blunt-force trauma, and his mother suspects he was killed elsewhere and brought home. Police are investigating a possible debt dispute as the motive.
A 46-year-old man named Prayongchai was found dead under a house in Baan Kham Phra, Hua Taphan District, Amnat Charoen Province on September 23. The body showed signs of blunt-force trauma to the head. A woman named Ruchana, 70, the victim's mother, has given a statement to police describing two vehicles—a motorcycle and a pickup truck—that visited the property on the evening of September 21. She found her son lying on a cot beneath the house with his phone left open and his leg hanging down. She suspects he was attacked elsewhere and brought back home, noting the cot appeared to be at an odd angle. The family believes the incident may be linked to a debt dispute. The victim had previously borrowed money daily to give to someone the family suspects, but a repayment disagreement arose when the other party claimed the victim had borrowed the money personally. Police are currently interviewing suspects, and the family is waiting for the results of the autopsy and full investigation before drawing conclusions.
