Explosive Ordnance Found in Mae Hong Son Waterway

On September 22, 2026, officers from Pai Provincial Police Station, military personnel from Sonabandit Camp, Pai District Administration, and related agencies responded to reports of an explosive device found in the Muang Paeng subdistrict area of Pai District, Mae Hong Son Province. Authorities have established a cordon around the site for public safety while awaiting the arrival of an explosive ordnance disposal team from central military command. The public has been urged not to approach the area, touch the object, or attempt to move it. Residents are instructed to follow all official warnings and barriers strictly. Anyone who discovers additional suspicious objects should leave the area immediately and report it to authorities. The ordnance has been identified as a 60-millimeter curved-trajectory explosive round in deteriorated condition. A local fisherman discovered the device while fishing and reported it to authorities.
