Army Clears 105mm Tank Round Found in Buriram Forest
Military forces safely removed a 105mm anti-tank round discovered in a tree at Dong Yai Wildlife Sanctuary in Buriram's Nondindaeng District after residents reported the unexploded ordnance on August 10.
On August 11, 2569, the Second Army Region announced that following an online report from August 10, residents in the Lamnang Rong area of Nondindaeng District, Buriram Province, discovered an unidentified explosive device lodged in a tree within Dong Yai Wildlife Sanctuary. The Second Army Region ordered local military units to investigate the site, which was formerly home to Ranger Company 215 of the Border Patrol Police but is no longer staffed. The object was identified as a 105-millimeter anti-tank round (TK-M490A1). To prevent danger to local residents, the Second Army Region cordoned off the area and dispatched Buriram Province's explosive ordnance disposal team, which successfully cleared the munition on August 11, 2569. The military apologized for any inconvenience caused.
