Bangkok Ranks Third Among Most Revisited Asian Destinations
Bangkok ranks third among Asia's most revisited destinations according to Agoda booking data, behind Tokyo and ahead of Bali, with the Thai capital maintaining its top-three position for a second consecutive year.
Agoda has released rankings of the top 10 most revisited destinations in Asia, with Bangkok maintaining its position in the top three for the second consecutive year. Based on accommodation booking data from the first half of 2025, Tokyo ranks first, Bangkok second, and Bali has entered the top three for the first time, followed by Seoul and Osaka in fourth and fifth places. Da Nang, Kuala Lumpur, Fukuoka, Taipei, and Johor Bahru complete the top ten.
Within Thailand, Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya, Chiang Mai, and Hat Yai remain the five most revisited cities for the second consecutive year, with all five maintaining their rankings from the previous year. Each city offers distinct appeal: Bangkok serves as the region's wellness and health tourism hub, Phuket caters to long-term visitors combining work with leisure, Pattaya attracts family holidays, Chiang Mai suits slow travel and remote workers, while Hat Yai is popular for weekend getaways, particularly among Malaysian and Singaporean travelers.
Japan and Vietnam show increased repeat visitor interest, with Fukuoka entering the top ten for the first time, reflecting growing popularity of secondary Japanese cities. Fukuoka, known locally as Hakata, offers diverse attractions including renowned tonkotsu ramen, vibrant street food culture, and convenient access to the Kyushu region. Da Nang, Vietnam, climbed two positions to rank sixth, attracting visitors with its beautiful beaches, proximity to the Hoi An World Heritage site, and excellent value for tourism.
Destinations develop lasting appeal that draws travelers back repeatedly, whether to discover new attractions, revisit favorite spots, or simply experience familiar atmospheres. Agoda's data shows that beloved destinations continuously attract repeat visitors, as travelers seek multiple reasons to return.
