Thai Ghost Film Heads to Busan Festival 2026

Thai ghost cinema is making waves on the global stage. 'Midnight Incense' has been selected as one of five Thai remake properties to participate in the 31st Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) and pitch in the Busan Story Market (BSM) 2026, where Thailand has been honored as Country of Honor this year.

M Studio and Channel 3, in partnership with South Korean partner CJ 4DPlex, are bringing the film 'Thi Yod: The Tiger of Khao Kwang' to SCREENX cinemas—a cutting-edge projection technology that expands images from the main screen across the left and right walls of the theater, creating a panoramic 270-degree field of view. This immersive experience makes viewers feel as though they are traveling alongside the characters and encountering the same events. The film features expansive forest landscapes and action sequences as viewers confront the tiger of Khao Kwang, creating an unforgettable cinematic experience.

Meanwhile, a music video for the song 'No Longer That Way' by country singer Plaai Kanokporn has become a viral sensation, surpassing one million YouTube views and generating over 250,000 TikTok clips. The artist expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support, noting that every view and every interaction fuels her motivation to continue creating music.

'9 Temples to Heaven,' a family film directed by Somphot Chidkachorn and featuring an ensemble cast, had its official Thai premiere at the Bangkok International Film Festival at Icon Cineconic, Iconsiam. The film is also Thailand's official submission for the 99th Academy Awards in the International Feature Film category.
